100 Kld Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP)
1. Pre-Treatment:
Screening: Large debris, solids, and waste materials are removed to protect the downstream treatment units from clogging or damage.
Oil & Grease Removal: Using dissolved air flotation (DAF) or coalescing filters, the oil, grease, and floatable substances are effectively separated from the wastewater.
2. Primary Treatment:
Coagulation & Flocculation: Coagulants and flocculants are added to wastewater to cause fine particles to clump together into larger flocs, which can be removed more easily.
Sedimentation: The flocs are allowed to settle in a sedimentation tank, reducing the suspended solids in the water.
3. Secondary Treatment:
Biological Treatment: The wastewater undergoes a biological treatment process like the Activated Sludge Process (ASP), where microorganisms break down organic matter, reducing BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) and COD (Chemical Oxygen Demand).
Aeration: Aeration tanks are used to supply oxygen, promoting the growth of aerobic microorganisms, which break down organic pollutants.
4. Tertiary Treatment:
Filtration: Sand filters, activated carbon filters, or membrane filtration technologies (e.g., Ultra-Filtration (UF) or Reverse Osmosis (RO)) are employed to remove fine particles and remaining suspended solids.
Disinfection: UV disinfection or chlorination is used to eliminate bacteria, viruses, and pathogens, ensuring that the treated water is safe for discharge or reuse.
5. Sludge Treatment:
Dewatering: The accumulated sludge from the primary and secondary treatment stages is dewatered using systems such as filter presses, centrifuges, or drying beds to reduce its volume.
Sludge Disposal: Dewatered sludge can be reused for composting, energy generation, or disposed of as per regulatory standards.
Benefits of a 100 KLD ETP Plant:
Regulatory Compliance: A 100 KLD ETP ensures that the wastewater effluent complies with local and international standards for discharge, avoiding fines and penalties associated with non-compliance.
Water Recycling & Reuse: Treated effluent from the plant can be reused for non-potable purposes such as irrigation, cooling, cleaning, or toilet flushing, helping industries reduce freshwater consumption and lowering operational costs.
Pollution Control: It significantly reduces pollutants, such as oils, greases, organic contaminants, and suspended solids, minimizing the environmental impact.
Cost-Effective: By reusing treated wastewater, industries can save costs on fresh water procurement, waste disposal, and sewage treatment. The plant also reduces external wastewater treatment fees.
Sustainability: The 100 KLD ETP helps industries conserve water and reduce their environmental footprint, supporting sustainable industrial practices.
Applications of a 100 KLD ETP Plant:
Textile Industry: Textile manufacturing produces wastewater with high levels of dyes, chemicals, and suspended solids. A 100 KLD ETP efficiently treats this effluent, removing harmful substances and enabling the reuse of treated water in the process.
Food & Beverage Industry: Food processing plants generate wastewater with high organic content, oils, and fats. The 100 KLD ETP helps reduce BOD and COD levels, making the treated water suitable for reuse in cleaning, irrigation, or cooling.
Pharmaceutical Industry: Pharmaceutical manufacturing generates wastewater containing hazardous chemicals, solvents, and pharmaceutical residues. A 100 KLD ETP can handle such complex effluents, ensuring safe treatment and discharge or reuse.

Chemical Industry: Chemical manufacturing produces wastewater that contains toxic chemicals, solvents, and other harmful substances. A 100 KLD ETP treats these substances, ensuring that the effluent meets discharge standards.
Paper & Pulp Industry: Paper mills produce effluent with high levels of suspended solids, lignin, and organic compounds. A 100 KLD ETP helps treat this effluent, reducing pollutants to acceptable levels.
Dairy Industry: Dairy plants produce wastewater with fats, proteins, and organic matter. The 100 KLD ETP efficiently treats this wastewater, reducing the organic load and enabling reuse in non-potable applications.
Automobile Industry: Automobile manufacturing processes generate wastewater with oils, lubricants, and heavy metals. The 100 KLD ETP ensures the treatment of such wastewater, enabling safe discharge or reuse.
